TIG Welder Job Description


We are currently conducting immediate interviews for professionals that are skilled in Tig Welding, available to work 2nd shift with a strong work ethic, stable work history, and those that are seeking a successful career in the metal fabrication industry. Other Shifts would be available at a later time.

Job Description:

  1. 3 plus years of strong Tig Welding experience needed in a fabrication shop
  2. Uses TIG welder to assemble fabricated metal products in an efficient manner to maximize production.
  3. Operates the equipment in a safe manner and reports hazards associated with the equipment or it's operators to the Safety Director and Maintenance Department.
  4. Produces strong penetrated welds that are smooth, non-porous, and consistent.
  5. Follows required procedures and uses appropriate jigs and fixtures to assist in the assembly process.
  6. Maintains/produces a level of output that will minimize production delays.
  7. Cleans and maintains an orderly work area.
  8. Communicates effectively with other workers to direct personal workflow.
  9. Assist other individuals in area when needed.
  10. Able to take constructive criticism, utilize it to help you grow and develop your skills

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Knowledge of the welding process and equipment.
  2. Ability to weld vertical, flat, and overhead welds with a good penetration and a quality appearance.
  3. Ability to operate a plasma cutter and acetylene torches.
  4. Good communications skills relative to supervisor and other related departments.
  5. Math skills including fractions, angles and conversions
  6. Ability to read tape measures and angle finders.
  7. Ability to read blueprint drawings and cut lists.
  8. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  9. Ability to operate various shop tools including power and manually operated wrenches.
