This Nurse Practitioner is specific to our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit within Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital. Provides safe, efficient age specific nurse practitioner level care to patients/families using nursing/medical interventions/modalities in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and evaluating patient services in the department.
Essential duties include: Implements advanced assessment of patients physical and psychosocial health/illness status and initiates care; Coordinates the implementation of the nursing process and practice to provide effective and efficient care to patients/families; Supervises and serves as a resource to other health professionals; Communicates and collaborates clearly and effectively to enhance patient care and facilitate unit operations; Demonstrates leadership in the practice of nursing to promote quality patient care. Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients and families. Initiates and maintains positive relationships with co-workers.
