Quality and Process Improvement Engineer

Work with Quality Manager to provide technical and clerical expertise to assist in a variety of quality areas.  Exhibits sound safety practices and procedures consistent with job performed.


Education, Skills and Requirements:

  • B.S degree in Industrial Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Engineering Technology, Quality Assurance or related from accredited college or university.
  • At least 3-5 years quality experience with specific experience in an ISO or TS certified manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work with various people for process improvements and corrective actions.
  • Experience with supplier management, internal and external audit, and new product introduction.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft applications and experience with Minitab to analyze capabilities and trends.
  • Certified Green or Black belt is a plus.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist quality and production departments in the evaluation of quality issues (including customer & supplier issues) using statistical & problem solving techniques to determine root cause, implement corrective & preventative actions and improve processes.
  • Investigate customer quality-related complaints/returns and provide feedback to customers; may be called to meet with customers or participate in audits.
  • Participate in studies to identify process capabilities, developing product inspection and test procedures and report quality requirements.
  • Be a member of the internal auditing team, participate in conducting internal audits.
  • Work with suppliers to solve quality issues.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt: perform minimum two projects per year.
