Job Description

Schedule Required:   M-F 9-530 2 Sat. per month 9-3
Special Info:   Seasoned travel agent . Apollo/Viewpoint system. Preferred vendor program, Paid Fam time.

Competencies: Primary Sales


Utilize relationship selling to maximize leisure travel experiences for members/clients and build a loyal base of repeat clientele. Mentor less experienced travel agents.


Level I (Grade 7):

Expertly serve clients by selling various travel products offered by the Agency. A concentration on Diamond Elite and Preferred vendor products is required.

Meet or exceed established sales quota.

Prepare and issue invoices related to travel sales.

Operate applicable automated airline reservation and ticketing system.

Comply with all ARC regulations and Mid-Atlantic policies and procedures in the collection and handling of assets.

Satisfactorily handle refunds and complaints.

Utilize ARC Agent’s Handbook and standard travel reference material for airline, rail, hotel/resort, etc. information to efficiently and effectively accommodate Agency clients.

Complete other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Ability to sell retail travel, meet company objectives, handle customer inquiries, and complete associated paperwork offering exceptional service and demonstrating shared values.

Level I (Grade 7):

High School diploma or equivalent (a graduate of an accredited travel school preferred).

At least 5 years experience as a retail travel agent.

Proficiency with an automated airline reservation system.

Certified Travel Associate (CTA) or Certified Travel Counselor (CTC) designation strongly preferred.

Completion of appropriate AAA University Travel Agency proficiency test strongly preferred.

Effective written and oral communication skills to enable accurate completion of reports and paperwork and constructive interaction with others.

Expertise in relationship building.

Satisfactory employment screening results.

As a member of the Car Care, Insurance and Travel (CCIT) Team, demonstrates the ability to respond to customer inquiries and refer customers to the associates who can best assist them with Car Care, Travel, Insurance, Membership, Discounts, Financial Services, and other Retail products.  Maintain specific awareness of products to support their assigned duties as well as general awareness of AAA’s products and services to provide exceptional member and client experiences in a manner that will build repeat business and generate sales.  Assist the CCIT Team to exceed Customer Satisfaction and Quality scores, while meeting established productivity goals.
