Job Description

Schafer Corporation is currently searching for a mathematician to serve as a key member of a fast-paced technology office of the Government client. The mathematician will provide technical and program management support to the government client as a Science and Engineering Technical Advisor (SETA). The location of work is Arlington, Virginia. 

Responsibilities: The SETA will make significant contributions across a range of technical areas by identifying, analyzing, and developing novel technologies and methodologies for current and new program development. In addition, the SETA will work with Government Program Managers to document program progress through assisting in the assessment and reporting of technical achievements and communicating results with clear and concise language. 

Job Requirements

The following knowledge skills and attributes are required:

  • M.S.or Ph.D. in mathematics.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • DoD Secret clearance or higher is required.
Highly desired working experience includes:

  • Prior work as a technical SETA.
  • Experience with research on programs related to national defense.
  • Experience with research and literature in diverse technical fields.
  • Preparing and presenting technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Quantitative tasks, including independent data analysis.
  • Developing plans, budgets, and schedules for projects in various phases of development.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
