The Science Computing Group in the Genzyme R&D Center seeks a highly motivated individual to work on a dynamic and cross-functional team involved in translational research and informatics. You will partner with scientific colleagues in functional genomics, disease biology, and clinical research groups throughout Genzyme. Main responsibilities are to introduce and develop computational methodologies and approaches necessary to support leading-edge translational research. You will work with researchers to design and perform in-depth statistical and quantitative analysis of data from a variety of platforms, particularly next generation sequencing. As the computational specialist on project teams, you will be responsible for execution of computational analyses in support of target identification, biomarker discovery, and mechanistic studies of disease and therapeutic action. You will be expected to effectively communicate analytical results with internal project collaborators through both presentations and one-on-one interactions. Additionally, you will participate in defining and supporting computational infrastructure within the group.
