Regional Director of Programming and Engagement

Benchmark Senior Living is looking for a dynamic and energetic individual to be part of our Programming and Engagement team. In this role you will have an opportunity to work with our community teams and support the well being of our residents!

The Regional Director of Programming and Engagement’s primary responsibility is to oversee the implementation and/or sustainability of each community’s resident engagement program and implementing new corporate programming initiatives. You will have an opportunity to collaborate, train and support our community leaders and frontline staff.

The Regional Director of Programming and Engagement will be assigned to support 20 to 25 community level activity directors. You will be responsible for evaluating that creative and innovative programming is in place for both our traditional assisted living and dementia care residents and are meeting our program requirements and standards.

The Regional Director of Programming and Engagement will perform a vital role in support of the recruitment, hiring, training, coaching and on boarding of Memory Care Program Coordinators and Traditional Activity Directors in our communities. He/she is also responsible for providing support, education, and program oversight of their assigned communities to ensure regulatory compliance and Benchmark Program Standards. 

The Regional Director of Programming and Engagement is also responsible for implementing processes and procedures to enhance the development of community talent, ensuring systems and resident and family engagement is in place at all of your assigned communities. This position will be supporting our communities in MA, NH, ME, and  VT.

The Regional Director of  Programming and Engagement will need to be able to have a hands on approach with community staff, be able to adapt to the degrees of each individual community and apply Benchmarks Programming standards and practices to enhance the overall quality related to resident and family engagement.

Job Requirements

Regional Director of Programming and Engagement Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree required, Masters preferred
  • Must have demonstrated supervisory, leadership and management skills
  • Valid driver’s license and willing to travel 80% of the time
  • Prefer certification and/or credentials related to activity programming and dementia care
  • Engaging verbal and written communication style
  • Excellent training and presentation skills – one-on-one and group
  • Proficient computer skills
  • A aspiration to expand knowledge and refine skills through education and training
  • Good mentoring and coaching skills; ability to inspire and develop others Previous experience of a year or more of managing multiple senior living communities or five years or more in a senior living community in an engagement or training role is preferred
  • Multi site experience is desirable
