Cook Endoscopy was established to provide innovative products for gastrointestinal endoscopy. By working closely with prominent gastroenterologists, Cook Endoscopy has become a worldwide leader in the design, development and manufacture of devices used in gastrointestinal endoscopy, bronchoscopy, and surgery, in the treatment of esophageal, stomach, pancreatic, liver and colon disorders. Key product lines include but are not limited to sphincterotomes, wire guides, biliary stents, forceps, needles, cytology brushes, multi-band ligators, Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy systems (PEGs) and polypectomy snares. Sales activities are coordinated through the Endoscopy Strategic Business Unit which is globally directed from Cook Endoscopy. To meet the needs of medical professionals worldwide, the company has both domestic and international sales forces and is represented by distributors and wholly owned subsidiaries throughout the world. We have an immediate opening for a highly motivated and driven District Manager in our Endoscopy Strategic Business Unit. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast growing, well-established, and respected medical device industry leader. The territory offers substantial growth opportunities for a professional salesperson who brings the required skills. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of successful outside sales experience. Clinical experience a plus. Job Functions/Job Duties:
Have a proven track record of developing new business and expanding existing business
Be a self-starter with good interpersonal skills, have a positive and constructive attitude, and be a natural planner who critically assesses his/her own performance
Be able to develop and maintain an annual business plan for the territory
Meet and exceed projected sales goals
Be credible and comfortable in dealing with physicians, nurses, and administrators
Have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hospital-based environment.
Be confident and strive to continually improve
Be able to work independently and adapt to a changing environment
Participate in national, state, and regional sales exhibits
Maintain timely and weekly expense reports
Keep current on the managed health care environment
Proactively educate customers, through conversations, presentations/in-services and literature
Have an understanding of the principles of sales marketing, cost effectiveness, medical terminology associated with the specialties and procedures where the products are used
Job Qualifications:
Must have sales experience, be an excellent communicator, and be able to demonstrate successful experience managing major accounts and large contracts
Should understand the importance of achieving genuine sales relationships in an ethical manner
Minimum 3 years business to business sales experience preferably in a related field
2 years experience in a medical setting or equivalent preferred
Bachelor degree desired, or equivalent experience
Ability to travel overnight as needed
Excellent organizational skills
Strong computer software skills
Current driver’s license with no more than 2 moving violations
