Certified Coding Consultants – Local / Travel
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for experienced, professional CCS credentialed HIM Coding Consultants to perform coding, audits, reviews and assessments in a variety of interdisciplinary healthcare settings. Especially in demand are coding consultants with inpatient and outpatient experience, familiarity with complex Medicare cases, coding cutting edge procedures.
CCS
- We are looking for CCS credentialed coders to provide coding, reviewing and auditing services locally and nationwide.
- Candidates must have a CCS credential, may have an RHIT or RHIA credential.
- Minimum 2-5 years acute care inpatient coding experience.
Job Duties:
- Understands and follows AHIMA Code of Ethics and Best Practice Standards for client facility
- Codes charts according to medical necessity;
- Accurately assign principal diagnosis, sequence CCs and capture procedures;
- Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures, medical staff bylaws and all regulatory guidelines relative to position;
- Conducts themselves professionally with client and appropriately represents Caban Resources;
- Follows specific audit, assessment and/or contract guidelines as identified utilizing appropriate tools as required;
- Prepares data outcomes, analysis and reports thoroughly and timely as required;
- Capable of meeting and educating other health care professionals in a variety environments including, HIM staff, directors, managers, clinical staff, and physicians;
- Helps others by answering questions and responding to requests;
- Maintains quality results by following and enforcing standards;
- Protects hospital by keeping medical records information confidential;
- Accomplishes medical records and hospital mission by completing related results as needed;
- Multiple shift coverage needed - please specify your availability.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Candidates must hold an active AHIMA credential as a CCS coder and may also have a current credential as an RHIT/ RHIA.
- Must have at least three-years of supervisory or consulting experience within HIM.
- Prefer candidates with clinical documentation compliance and improvement backgrounds.
