Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an energetic and caring individual with excellent clinical, communication, and customer service skills to join the Client Services Team as our Lab Supervisor.
Essential Functions:
Reporting to the Vice President of Client Services, the Lab Supervisor is responsible for day to day supervision and oversight of the laboratory operation and personnel. This position also includes, but is not limited to:
- Be accessible to testing personnel at all times testing is performed to provide on site telephone or electronic consultation to resolve technical problems in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Provide day to day supervision of high complexity test performance by testing personnel qualified under §493.1489.
- Be onsite to provide direct supervision when high complexity testing is performed by any individual qualified under §493.1789 (b) (4)
- Be responsible for monitoring test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure that acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained.
- Assist in documenting and assuring that all remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.
- Assure that all patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and the test system is properly functioning.
- Provide lab orientation to all testing personnel; assure that all personnel are adequately trained to meet the requirements of their job.
- Evaluate and document the performance of all testing and assistant personnel.
- In the absence of the Director and Technical Supervisor, the General Supervisor must be responsible for the proper performance of all laboratory procedures and reporting of test results.
Requirements
Requirements:
- California Clinical Laboratory Scientist Licensure
Education and Experience:
- BA or BS in Biology or related field
- Experience in a supervisory role in a high-complexity lab setting
