Passport Health Communications, Inc., a nationally recognized pioneer developing innovative solutions for the healthcare industry and one of Healthcare Informatics Top 100 Healthcare Companies, is seeking a SQL Data Architect.
The Data Architect for the Patient Access Verification (PAV) Business Unit will have full responsibility and ownership of the database tier for our applications. Day to day activities will ensure the accurate and proper usage of data. This role is tasked with expanding the usage of data as a strategic enabler of corporate goals and objectives. Working closely with the development team to construct efficient applications the Data Architect will play a key role in PAV success and growth. The right candidate for this position will be well rounded in the aspects of team leadership, software development and DBA.
Job Duties:
- Develop and execute on strategic goals for data architecture and an overall data management roadmap
- Learn, discover, document and improve upon the current data architecture
- Own and manage the metadata and scheme for our application databases
- Accountable for the data architecture concerning performance and assure best practices are being followed
- Work with operational DBAs to monitor performance, optimize and tune, plan data archival and pruning, and participate in planning of server and SAN requirements to meet scalability requirements of current and future products
- Lead and be an advocate for data management, including coaching and training of development staff
- Participate in development code reviews and critique developer ideas and code.
- Establish standard framework for which development should operate concerning data and database usage
- Learn the healthcare patient access business and understand the data beyond strictly a technical scope
- Other Duties as Required.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or other related industry degree
- Experience in a high transaction SQL server environment (SQL Server 2005 & 2008)
- Experience developing applications in a Microsoft environment
- Experience leading a team of developers and/or DBAs
- Experience with SQL Reporting tools
- Hands on experience with data architecting, data mining, large-scale data modeling.
- Experience in performance monitoring and tuning in a high volume transaction environment
- Very experienced and comfortable writing stored procedures and writing complex Transact SQL
- Experience in database partitioning methodologies
- Self directed and motivated
- Healthcare experience a plus
- Excellent logical, analytical and organizational skills with an uncompromising attention to detail
- Good interpersonal skills and work well in a team environment
- Prefer MCDBA, Oracle Certified
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
