Principal Product Development Engineer

Bachelor degree or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or  related field. Graduate degree is preferred.

Minimum of 10 years hands-on work experience in the development of new products, at least 5 of those years are required to be in the medical device industry

Experience in the design, development and launching of disposable medical devices (catheters, cannulas, or related disposable devices) in order to effectively lead the design, development and launch of airway management and anesthesia products

Proven track record of developing and bringing new medical devices from concept generation to market launch as demonstrated by significant new product sales and issued patents

Ability to design prototypes for early stage concept evaluation and conduct evaluation to estabilsh feasibility studies by working with internal engineering group and outside contractors/vendors 

Effective leadership skills to lead cross-functional project teams to drive product development projects thorough phase gate product development process from concept generation to market launch.

Ability to effectively communicate (oral/written) and work cooperatively with multidisciplinary teams on project deliverables to monitor project progress, manage critical path activities and ensure adherence to project milestones, timelines and budget

Strong results orientation 

Ability to work with clinicians, end users, and marketing to define and evaluate new innovative product concepts to address unmet customer and business needs

Experience in assisting functional leads to conduct due diligence on emerging technologies and products for partnership, licensing and acquisition opportunities 

Ability to research materials, products, technologies, test methods, and assembly/fabrication processes
