QA Editor - Medical Transcription

InHealth, an Atlanta-based national provider of medical transcription services, is currently seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Editor/Medical Transcriptionist.  Only candidates with Healthcare QA experience will be considered.

Position Summary:

To edit transcribed documents against actual dictation consistently and fairly according to the Quality Assurance Program.  Responsible for recognizing and evaluating inconsistencies and inaccuracies in a medical document and report according to QA program.  Candidate must possess an excellent command of medical terminology and the ability to hear and understand difficult dictation, as well as the knowldge and ability to perform research as necessary.  The QA Editor will also be responsible for transcribing STATS for assigned accounts as well at times transcribing when necessary to assure the client's STATS are as stipulated in their contract.  The QA Editor will need to comply with all relevant policies and procedures and ensure adherence with Quality Assurance Department guidelines. 

Requirements: 

Minimum 5 years medical transcribing and/or 1 year experience as a Quality Assurance Editor.  Proficiency in advanced medical terminology.  Must be comfortable with handling difficult dictators, whether caused by a speech impairment, poor dictation habits, or a difficult dictation enviornment.  Must be Highly competent in research using reference books, the Internet, or previous report references.  Must possess advanced understanding of health record content, concentration and critical thinking, high attention to detail and accuracy, Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral with transcription staff,  QA coworkers, and management.  Editing skills to include correction of demographics, document format, grammer, punctuation, and medical terminology.  Must have strong time management, prioritization skills, and ability to meet frequent rigid deadlines.  Must have the ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions and to indentify potentially problematic situations and recommend proactive resolutions.  CMT certification preferred.
