Health System Manager

 

Job summary: The EIS Outpatient Systems Manager will have in-depth knowledge of ambulatory/outpatient  practice management and electronic medical record applications, and the operations they support, in a care delivery system setting.  In addition, the EIS Outpatient Systems Manager will be experienced in the full implementation lifecycle of outpatient systems.  The  EIS Outpatient Systems Manager will be responsible for support of current practice management and EMR applications and the completion projects, optimization, and support.  The EIS Outpatient Systems Manager will be the primary EIS contact for outpatient applications in the portfolio and will coordinate projects and communications to all impacted stakeholders.  The Manager  is accountable for integrated workflows that support outpatient access, clinical care delivery, and billing services.  The position reports to the Dirctor, Outpatient Systems.  This position requires the ability to communicate with various stakeholders and leaders in outpatient operations, clinical care delivery, and technical support.  The EIS Outpatient Systems Manager must be a champion for all projects in his/her portfolio and serve as a positive role model for encouraging others to embrace operational changes associated with implementations and other application technology projects.

 

Job-specific Summary:

·   Provides project planning, analysis, leadership, and oversight for outpatient applications

·   Oversees team in establishing and conducting structured post-live application optimization to identify workflow improvement opportunities and resolve issues to maximize effective use of the systems

·   Oversees development and maintenance of new and ongoing user training programs and the network of super-users

·   Establishes relationships, sets expectations, and conducts communication with department management at the supervisor, manager, and director levels, and with physician leadership, related to outpatient systems implementation and integration

·   Leads cross-functional teams during large-scale, complex system implementation activities

·   Leads evaluation, analysis, and recommendation of new application and technology solutions as applicable to support of patient access, clinical care, and professional billing processes

·   Collaborates and coordinates work efforts with other managers and staff within EIS in delivery of outpatient or integrated clinical or billing projects

·   Manages vendor relations and service delivery

·   Manages to approved budget

·   Establishes detailed project scope, project plans; manages work and deliverables completion

·   Provides reporting to senior EIS and operational leadership on project progress and issues

·   Provides direction and oversight to team leads and staff members

·   Oversees issue resolution and escalation

·   Leads staff recruiting, hiring, and human resources management for team, in collaboration with the Director

·   Determines team’s development and training needs; conducts performance appraisals, goal-setting, and mentoring; plans for the professional growth and well-being of team members

·   Provides direction and input into the organization’s outpatient application strategies

·   Liaises with training team lead to ensure learning/training needs for end-users are met

·   Collaborates with operations leadership to assist in escalating and resolving issues

Requirements

Health System Manager



  • Subject Matter Expert in billing operations for healthcare systems
  • Experience as a Practice Manager – ideally with Epic Resolute (or Epic Revenue Cycle), must have a deep knowledge of Billing operations from a business and IT perspective.
  • Business knowledge of Billing Operations (as opposed to just an IT perspective of Billing)
  • 8 to 10 + years of HIM

-          4+ years in project management

-          2+ years implementing and/or supporting healthcare software applications

-          2+ years in practice management or clinical operations management

  • Project Management  experience. Expert knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Subject Matter Expert : in billing operations for healthcare systems, ideally Epic
  • Experienced Manager in leading and management of many teams / large teams

Employment models: Long-term Contract (corp-to-corp, or W2 hourly), or Full-time employee FTE with the end client, or a Contract-to-Hire.  Contract-to-hire is preferred.
