Description Verification of Benefits Coordinator - Tempe, AZ

More recently, Otto Bock extended its reach to become a national supplier of durable medical equipment products. We are looking for a medical insurance Verification of Benefits Coordinator for our Tempe, AZ office.

Position Summary:

Responsible for conducting timely and accurate verification of benefits, initiating prior authorization when applicable and communicating insurance benefits information to the patient or other sources. Collects co-insurance and deductible payments from patients via credit card. Works weekends, holidays, on-call, overtime and/or extended shifts as needed.

Requirements

Minimum of one year experience in medical benefits verification/authorization
Exceptional organizational skills
Experience utilizing HCPC codes
Inbound or outbound customer service experience in a related medical field
Professional and positive telephone manner
Exceptional communications/interpersonal skills
Proficient using MIcrosoft Office software
Ability to effectively hear, communicate and comprehend by phone for prolonged periods of time
Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
Typing speed of 45 wpm accurately preferred
Medical transcription or medical coding experience is also preferred
Prior Durable Medical Equipment experience a plus
High School Diploma or GED is required
