Charter College, a growing company in the private education industry is looking for a Career Services Officer / Employer Relations (CSO/E) to join its team in Long Beach, CA.

 

We are looking for an outgoing person to build relations with local employers with the goal of placing our graduates in jobs.  This is a great opportunity for someone who loves outside sales, loves working with people (internal and external clients), and loves developing relations with the community.

 

The primary job duties will include, but not be limited to:

• Develop and maintain relationships with employers for the purposes of externship/internship and job placement of graduates.

• Develop job orders from employers, send graduates’ resumes, assist in scheduling interviews, and follow-up with employers and graduates.

• Organize job fairs on campus, attend outside job fairs, invite employers to speak to current students, and arrange on-campus interviews.

• Follow-up on posted internet and newspaper job leads.

• Generate program interest with city associations and local employers.

• Assist the Director of Career Services in partnering with students, graduates, and alumni in Career Development and job search, which requires working directly with students and the employer community at large.

• In addition, this position will provide backup to the Director of Career Services in several initiatives, which may include feasibility studies, reporting, achieving budgeted objectives, ensuring school compliance with campus, state, and accreditation standards/criteria relating to placement.

Requirements Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

• Associates degree required.

• Minimum Four (4) years experience in any of the following required: marketing/new business development/sales; recruiting / working at a staffing agency as an account manager; customer service; or specific industry experience in field(s) of Charter College’s externship programs such as medical, legal and dental assisting, medical coding and billing and/or pharmacy technician.

• Experience in career services, job placement department at a vocational school, college, or university preferred

• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) skills strongly desired

• Current driver’s license is required.
