Technical Service Specialist

Location: Durham, NC

 

Your main tasks:

 

Serves customers by providing direct technical support to Tecan and SLT customers, and Tecan Engineers.

 

  • Answers customer and Tecan staff `s technical inquiries via telephone, e-mail and/or voice mail.  If inquiry/trouble cannot be resolved, then TTS dispatches Field Automation Engineer to customer site for resolution.  Follow-up required to until customer resolution.                                                                                     
  • Arrange for shipment of parts or instruments to customer sites and ensure RSO’s are properly returned and tracked.                                                               
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge of instruments and products by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.            
Requirements

Your background:

  • BA or BS in Robotics, Automation, Biology, Chemistry, Medical technology or related fields
  • Well-developed PC/MAC skill level, including MS Windows 2000/XP, Excel, word processing software. Strong working knowledge of Windows environments
  • 1-2 years automation/instrumentation experience desired.
  • Other skills required are good organization, record keeping, communication and time management. 
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi task.
  • Professional phone etiquette required.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to grasp new software concepts.
