Description

Thomas Medical is currently seeking an EHS Leader to drive EHS program in organization.  The EHS program is currently in the implementation phase.

The EHS Leader is responsible for determining a strategy on VPP, Global Star, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, safety and chemical regulatory requirements, injury reductions as well as air, climate change, waste, and water issues.  The incumbent will also function in a team environment with other members of the business level EHS staff to ensure EHS compliance and to identify, prevent and resolve potential EHS issues and liabilities.

Provide EHS guidance and compliance support to site management team to ensure compliance with regulatory and Company program requirements.

Evaluate facility EHS conditions, assess risks and develop appropriate corrective action plans and budgets to address deficiencies in comparison to regulations and Company policy / protocol.

Keep management apprised of progress and significant developments on key projects.

Assist management in executing Company Environmental, Health, and Safety priorities, metrics, goals and requirements.

Drive continuous improvement in EHS performance and programs.

Ensure robust pipeline and process for VPP/Global Star/H&S/Evironmental excellence certifications and recognition.

Scope and Manage Local EHS projects, Develop and manage ongoing project budgets.

Support efforts to analyze and communicate performance against expectations, provide feedback, establish and track required actions to improve performance.

Conduct data analysis to identify EHS program trends and develop corrective and preventative actions.

Assist in responding to significant incidents and government requests / notices.

Provide leadership, support and training to build technical, management and leadership skills of site leadership team in EHS.

Requirements BS degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering or related discipline.

5+ years EHS compliance and program experience.

Must have working knowledge of US EHS regulations and standards, experience in preparing government submissions and demonstrated effective interaction with regulatory agencies and senior business leaders.

Excellent leadership, program, project management and interpersonal skills.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Technical EHS certification (CIH, CSP, CPE); six sigma green belt preferred.

Experience with OSHA VPP or other EHS excellence certification programs preferred.

MSDS expertise is a plus.
