Application Developer
CHCA’s Information Technology Division is seeking an experienced Application (.NET) Developer. The Application Developer Position will be expected to work with IT Team Members and Business Units to build and develop organizational programs and systems. They will participate in project management and design processes while testing and revising systems throughout each project iteration.
The Application Developer will also be responsible for responding to questions relating to application functionality and architecture, be able to troubleshoot and resolve application errors while ensuring strict adherence to IT change control processes, and prepare necessary documentation as outlined in the System Development Lifecycle. They may also be required to provide end-user support with certain organizational systems.
The Application Developer Position will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing applications while also creating technical and end-user documentation. Further, this position will be required to provide technical training and mentorship to other staff members within the IT division.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
EDUCATION and/ or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Computer Science) or equivalent work experience
- Experience in healthcare in a team environment
- Five to seven years of programming in a team environment
- 3-5 years of recent experience working with the specific development tools noted below [in Knowledge Section]
- Expertise and experience with complex technical activities
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills in a team-based development environment
- Technical creativity
- Ability to provide technical training and mentorship across divisions
- Ability to provide end-user training on both third-party and in-house developed application
KNOWLEDGE:
- Preferred: Strong background with Object Orientated Programming and Object Programming Analysis and the .NET Architecture
- Preferred: Experience developing with the following programming languages: .NET (C# / ASP.NET), HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SQL, T-SQL, XML/XSL/XSLT
- Experience creating effective database design and implementation
- Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle Methods
- Ability to design effective user interfaces and create graphics using Macromedia Fireworks MX or Adobe Photoshop CS preferred
- Development experience with Microsoft CRM and MOSS 2007 preferred
- Knowledge of personal computers, including hardware support, Microsoft Office products and in-house developed products
- Working knowledge of Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) in accordance with Service Oriented Architecture principles to support distributed computing
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Extensive periods of sitting and keyboard/computer work
- Communicates in person, via email and over the phone
- May lift packages weighing up to 25 pounds
- Minimal travel
