Description

ANIMAL RESEARCH TECHNICIAN (Richland Farms, Michigan)- Candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent, college degree in Animal Science preferred but not required, and at least two years experience working on a farm with a variety of companion and livestock animals. Experience with farm equipment is needed for this position. Candidate should have experience with animal husbandry procedures, sample collection, record keeping, and processing data utilizing “Good Laboratory Practices". Must be able to lift 40lbs to 60lbs, climb, stoop, bend, reach, and stand for prolonged periods. Be responsible and reliable to work independently when necessary, and maintain good customer relations. Demonstrated math and reading comprehension and good oral and written communication skills are required. Demonstrated computer skills preferred. This position is located at Richland Farms and is a full-time position from the hours of 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday – Friday. Some weekend and holiday hours maybe required. Qualified applicant will be expected to complete and pass an employee background check, DOT physical, and drug screen prior to being hired.  Job ID: ART-MI Position effective JANUARY 2010.

Requirements

Any candidate applying for an animal-related position must have the ability to work with and around animals, and/or the ability to control any animal allergies with medication.  If medication is needed, Priority One Services will require a physician’s note indicating that you are able to perform essential job functions, which may include working with and around animals safely.  The ability to lift at least 50 pounds and the disclosure of household pets may be required for certain positions.  All candidates must have the ability to read, speak and understand English.
