Description
  • Responsible for coordination of MIDAS implementation at UHS acute care facilities.
  • Provides training for all UHS acute care facilities.
  • Possesses expert working knowledge of the MIDAS+ software.
  • Provides facilities with support and guidance for overall system implementation.
  • Coordinates JCAHO Core data collection and collaborates with MIDAS+ staff to assure timely data collection, submission, and integrity in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provides data for analysis of JCAHO Core Measure.
  • Works closely with the UHS Information Services staff for implementations and support.
  • Works closely with the UHS Quality and Risk Department in identification of performance improvement opportunities for UHS acute care facilities and maximizing the use of MIDAS+.
  • Responsible for overall day to day support for MIDAS+ vial help tickets, telephonic requests and e-mails.
  • Acts as liaison with vendors
  • Support and implement enhancements to ensure optimal system performance in accordance with information systems methods and practices.
  • Serves as a technical recourse for MIDAS+ applications and CERME.  Demonstrates expertise in problem solving of MIDAS+ issues.
    May serve as project leader on smaller scale projects.
  • Serves as the IS expert on user business practices, concepts and terminology sufficient for the assigned applications. Working knowledge of IS standards and quality methods and metrics.  Ability to consult with users to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications; design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing, or modification of additional tools based on and related to user design specifications.  General familiarity of user business practices, concepts and terminology sufficient to support the applications
  • Conducts research, evaluation, and implementation of IS technologies and procedures to optimize productivity and quality for the Quality, Infection Control, Risk Management, Case Management, and Medical Staff offices in acute care facilities.
  • Participates in cross-system integration assignments.
  • Translates technical materials into customer documentation. 

Essential Job Duties
  • Midas system support maintenance
  • Project management of assigned, focused integrated tasks
  • System report building and standardization
  • Quality and performance improvement consultant for other UHS Clinical Information System Projects
  • Plan and support system utilization, optimization, and education programs for facility end-users.
  • Support live installations at new facilities
  • Understanding of core measure reporting, TJC and CMS processes.
  • Analyze system issues.  Trouble shoot and identify problems as needed
  • Provide customer support to all acute care facilities and handle ticket processing on issues and enhancement requests
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse currently licensed with a Bachelor's degree (in Nursing or other healthcare related field) or equivalent experience and clinical expertise, and a minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience.
  • Certification in Healthcare Quality recommended
  • 3+ years experience with MIDAS+ and McKesson CERMe products, strongly desired.  Basic understanding of HL7 interfaces. 
  • Competent on use of computer equipment with basic UHS applications, i.e. Lotus Notes, Word, Excel, Access, Visio. 
    Written and verbal fluency in English
  • Formal training and/or experience in performance improvement and data management.
