As part of this team, you will contribute to the development of our probe and array design methods, through computational and experimental selection of the DNA sequences that are printed on the arrays. As a member of the Genomics Solutions unit, you will play a key role to the success of our business, designing and manufacturing oligonucleotide DNA/RNA microarrays.Responsibilities include: - Hands-on development of Bioinformatics software to solve problems in biological or other life science - Contributing to extend our current line of products, and help us enter new microarray application areas.- Determining and developing approaches to assigned projects- Leading/participating as a key in development and/ or design projects requiring coordination with other functions- Solving a broad range of problems of varying scope and complexity~cb~10/19/09

Requirements External Qualifications:This dynamic position requires a MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent plus a minimum of 5+ years relevant experience with bioinformatics tools and procedures as applied to high-throughput computational pipelines. Chosen candidate must have the following:

5+ years experience in C++, .NET, and Java

Object oriented programming experience a plus

Experience with: BLAST, BLAT and/or MOST

Experience with SQL and/or Oracle database

Knowledge of public biological databases, tools, and repositories is required

Hands-on experience producing software in collaborative, multidisciplinary environment to solve problems in biological or other life science is highly desirable

Experience with Image Analysis is a plusGeographic Location: Bay Area, California (Santa Clara)
