A global leader in the development and manufacturing of surgical devices is seeking an energetic, hands-on & goal oriented individual to lead their company's new product development initiatives. This is a company that is well respected in their industry and is in the process of developing several new products while their competitors are taking the status quo approach. Job Description


As the Product Development Engineer you will be responsible for the design, documentation, and testing of new & existing products for the orthopedic industry. Main duties & responsibilities include control and implementation of the product development process. Help take design from concept to production.  Directing and/or performing product and component testing, analysis and maintaining development history records.  You will also be a functional member of the R&D team, develop product development plans and budgets, lead design review meetings, and write product specifications.


In addition, qualified candidates will also:

*Develops mechanical designs for orthopedic products and oversees drafting effort.

*Makes changes in methods, processes, design or products when needed.

*Reviews project progress and evaluates results.

*Organizes protocols and performs laboratory and field testing and evaluation of mechanical designs for orthopedic products to assure compliance with performance specifications.

*Prepares and maintains documentation to comply with current Quality System regulations.




 

Job Requirements 

Qualification


Successful candidates for this position have:

*4 plus years of experience developing products for the Medical Device Industry (preferably Small Bone Orthopedics, Spine, Cranio-MaxilloFacial)

*Proficient with Solidworks or similair CAD program.

*Excellent Project Management background.

*Self-starter, have a hands-on approach and capability to work independently.

*BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent.
