Protein Technologies and Assays

The Protein Technologies and Assays department at Sigma-Aldrich Corporation is developing cutting edge protein analysis technologies for use in Life Science research. We are seeking experienced, motivated candidates for a full-time Senior Scientist position at our Research & Development facility in St. Louis.

Successful candidate will work in a project-focused environment as a member of active, multidisciplinary teams responsible for design and development of novel products within the area of Protein Technologies and Assays. Responsibilities include experimental design and performance in support of new product development. Additional responsibilities will be to prepare research reports, application data, detailed protocols, data presentation, literature and patent review.

Position requires a PhD in the Life Sciences or an MS degree with 3-5 years research experience. Experience focus must be in protein microarrays and assay development. Candidate should also be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge and experience in protein characterization, high throughput screening and bioconjugation. Other skills, experience and proficiencies that will provide strong consideration are protein expression, protein purification, mass spectrometry, protein identification, protein quantification and post translational modification analysis. Candidate must be creative and highly motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organizational and computer skills are also fundamental for success.
