Description - Help facilitate the question writing and question review sessions and provide nursing content expertise during exam writing sessions as necessary.

Assist in developing and conducting the question-writer training for development workshops.

Review and edit test questions developed by NCSBN volunteers during the question writing and review workshops.

Classify test questions according to pre-specified content categories.

Provide references in support of the use of each question (i.e., for the correct response and the incorrect response alternatives).

Ensure accuracy of question content, i.e.; test plan categories (coding), correct answers (keying) and question validations

Work closely with the Content Manager, other Content Developers, Psychometricians, and the Application Data Administrator regarding the question database and the progress of question development.

The Content Developer is responsible for editing and reviewing questions to ensure their accuracy, clarity, and appropriateness, for classifying test questions with respect to their content along with several predetermined dimensions, and for maintaining and updating question references in the database. The Content Developer may also help facilitate question writing workshops and review sessions and will provide nursing content expertise during the workshops and throughout the entire question development process with NCSBN volunteers, committee members, and staff.

Working closely with the Director, other Content Developers, the Application Data Administrator, and NCSBN staff, the Content Developer follows the established question development process and ensures the exam questions are accurate and up-to-date.

Requirements Education and Experience:

MSN in Nursing with 5+ years recent clinical practice and currently in clinical practice

Adult Med/Surg Experience preferred

Experience with exam development strongly preferred

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
