Due to our continued growth and customer demand, we are currently recruiting for a qualified, interested and available Quality Assurance Automation Engineer for an opportunity located in Tempe, Arizona.

 

GENERAL SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to join the Quality Assurance team at iTRACS. The successful candidate will be a member of a team working on multiple applications in a dynamic and fast-paced environment to verify software conformance to defined acceptance criteria. These acceptance criteria will be defined by design documents and application testing standards. This role shall be under the direct management of the Manager of Customer Satisfaction and will require the individual to work collaboratively with the SDLC Project Manager, the QA Project Manager, Product Management, Quality Assurance, and Software Development, in ensuring that delivered solutions align to customer and market requirements.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Architect maintainable and extendable automated test frameworks and tools using scripting language(s) to test various product APIs as well as GUI elements.
  • Work with members of the QA team to determine the needs for test automation.
  • Create, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for use within projects and as regression testing.
  • Work with software engineers and architects to implement product APIs for test automation as necessary (e.g. test stubs).
  • Provide peer guidance on implementing automation for applications that do not have an existing automated test suite.
  • Partner with the QA Project Manager to enhance test case management to support automated testing.
  • Partner with other automation engineers to create a unified approach to automation across the team.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with Senior Management, supervisor peers, and end users. Audiences will include technical and non-technical individuals
  • Strong prioritization skills, candidate must be able to prioritize projects based on market demands
  • Experience working with end users or Business Analysts to ensure requirements are represented within test plans
  • Good analytical troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of software testing industry trends and applied knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle Management
  • Strong multi-tasking skills are a must for this exciting, fast paced environment
  • Linux development/testing experience is a plus
  • Experience with automation tools (i.e. Selenium) a plus
  • SoapUI experience a plus
  • Experience with TCL/Tk is a plus, with twapi extension ++.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Programming, Mathematics/Analytics or related field.
  • Minimum five (5) plus years software QA testing experience.
  • Experience using source code management tools is desired.
  • Familiarity with test management tools, including test case management, defect tracking, and requirements traceability.
  • Strong understanding of automation frameworks such as data driven, asynchronous methods, multi-threading, GUI testing, etc.
  • Candidate should have strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Candidate should have a deep understanding of software development methodologies, including agile and waterfall.
  • Candidate should have working knowledge of release management processes and how the QA process fits within it.
  • Candidate should have technical QA experience with testing a variety of applications and APIs, including web, mainframe, client/server and web services.

 

TRAVEL:

  • ~10% to customer and/or vendor meetings.
