Adheres to departmental procedures and practices, technical and industry standards and programming concepts and conventions during all aspects of work.

Responsible for the development of applications, standard reporting tools and system utilities for the statistical programming group and BioMetrics department.

Investigates trends, identifies techniques and makes recommendations for new methods and technologies used in pharmaceutical and/or biotech industries for reporting and managing clinical data.

Develops business needs assessments and negotiates effectively to meet technical objectives.

Leads the technical aspects of cross functional system development efforts.

Leads development and project management of technical deliverables planning and design work.

Leads development of clinical study related deliverables as necessary.

Designs and develops technical training materials to support role out efforts.

Effectively utilizes assigned resources as necessary and manages deliverables completion to meet project timelines.

Monitors contractor activities and reviews contractor deliverables as necessary.

Builds effective working relationships with cross functional groups within BioMetrics and across company to ensure that customer/stakeholder needs are met.

Responsible for writing applications development related SOPs appropriately scoped to the BioMetrics department business needs.

Responsible for every aspect of technical project deliverables quality.

Works with Quality Assurance and Computer Systems Validation to develop appropriately scoped validation plans and documentation and supporting.

Job Requirements

Minimum:  BS or BA in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related analytic field.

Preferred:  MS or MA in Statistics, Biostatistics, Biometrics or related field.

minimum of eight years SAS programming and applications development in pharmaceutical and/or biotech company.

orough knowledge of functional areas within the clinical development organization including but not limited to Research, Clinical Operations, Clinical Data Management, Statistics, Medical Writing and Regulatory Affairs.

horough knowledge of data collection practices and data flow.

Commanding understanding of the Biometrics role in the broader clinical development setting.

dvanced knowledge of SAS Software including BASE/SAS, SAS/GRAPH and SAS/STAT.

dvanced knowledge of one or more SAS applications development module.

her statistical software package (S-Plus, StatXact, etc.) knowledge desirable.
