Freight Forwarding Manager

Job Description

Our Freight Forwarding Client is seeking an Operations Manager for its ISO-9000 certified freight forwarding company. The owner is looking for a leader to organize and manage day-to-day operations and become a managing partner, someone who will take ownership and is eager to help grow the business. This is a family owned company with offices in Columbia and also Brownville (near border). This is an "opportunity" type position- an opportunity for a candidate who is hardworking, able to lead teams, knowledgeable of industry, and who "wants" to use the resources available to manage the team and build business with the owner.


Job Requirements

The position will manage approximately 7 people at the Houston location. Leadership skills and knowledge of the ocean/air (no rail) freight business is a requirement. Experience with customs clearance and warehouse. 10 years preferred but flexible for the right candidate. The company does not offer benefits yet, but does reimburse for health insurance. Again, this is an "opportunity" type position for an entrepreneurial type candidate. 

This is a Direct Hire opportunity near Heights area of Houston.
