Web Developer

The Web Developer is a hybrid position that is geared towards both supporting the existing Web application portfolio and focusing on the successful delivery of new development initiatives This role requires previous experience in which a high level of initiative, judgment and tact has been demonstrated. Customer service skills in dealing with all levels in a team oriented environment and patience are of paramount importance. To be successful, candidates must have the ability to operate in high pressure situations, handling multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of discipline and flexibility. Work will encompass projects of all sizes and flavors.

Primary Responsibilities of the Web Developer:

  • Work with IT and Marketing Teams to manage the ongoing development and support activities of various Company Web sites/applications, employee customer portals and mobile applications that support both internal and field sales operations.

  • Developing, implementing and maintaining Web service integrations between key technology platforms.

  • Creation of site layouts and user interfaces from provided design concepts leveraging best-of-breed Web development practices.

  • Content updates to various Web entities provided by client content contributors.

  • SQL development as required.

  • Application/Framework design as needed.

  • Specifications/Requirements gathering as needed.

  • Routine daily maintenance of existing sites and applications.


Job Requirements

Experience and Requirements of the Web Developer:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Developer or similar role

  • 3+ years of exposure to Web-based technologies HTML5, JSON, JQuery, JavaScript, CSS/CSS3, .NET, PHP, etc.

  • Online portfolio of website, mobile and/or tablet experiences (examples required)

  • Understanding of website performance and latency issues

  • In-depth knowledge of client/server and web-based technologies with the ability to design solutions which make best use of the architecture being employed by the company

  • Hands-on development experience with the MS .NET framework (C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, WFC, XML, SOAP, etc.)

  • Solid understanding of Web services, API and SDK integrations and data transformations

  • Familiarity developing for a mobile platform (Android or Apple iOS)

  • Exposure to Web-based Mobile App development frameworks (REST API, Locators, Map services, etc.)

  • Experience working with enterprise data repositories like SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL or DB2.

  • Knowledge and comprehension of Object Oriented development techniques

  • Understanding of Agile and/or other formal development methodologies

  • Must have strong time management and prioritization skills, as well as the ability to identify and implement the best allocation of resources to ensure the successful completion of projects

  • Must possess initiative with strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Strong interpersonal, communication (written and oral), organization and planning skills

  • Must be a team player who is self-motivated, driven, open to new challenges and can “think on their feet" while “doing what it takes"; this is a fast paced entrepreneurial environment

  • Able to work under heavy deadlines and on multiple projects in a fast-paced cross-functional development environment while maintaining the support and operation of critical application systems in parallel

  • Needs to have the ability to remain abreast of industry technical trends and new development to maintain current skills and remain current with industry standards

  • Ability to identify and resolve process inefficiencies

  • Must be able to maintain a professional presence and represent the company favorably

  • Must be able to understand and embrace the company core values, corporate goals, mission, vision and priorities as set forth by Management, and be able to continually seek ways to meet or exceed goals and fulfill priorities


Additional Requirements of the Web Developer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related discipline. Equivalent experience may be substituted

  • Experience with or a comparable CRM-based solution preferred

  • Development Experience a plus

  • Experience with Linux LAMP stack and WordPress desired

  • Understanding the benefits of SEO and the development skills to support SEO are a plus

  • Experience working with outside IT vendors and partners

  • Required to be on-call

  • Driven and willing to answer the call for Community Service

  • Subjected to pre-employment screening and background checks

  • Clean criminal background check with no felonies and proof of acceptable driving record


The Web Developer role is a direct hire opportunity with one of our clients in Charlotte, NC. Salary is open as client would like to see all resumes.
