Job Description

Role: SmartSource is in need of a Senior Support Technician for a 3-6+ month opportunity located in mid-town New York City. Tech will provide Mac & Wintel PC onsite support M-F, 8 to 5. The support provides helpdesk services to our customer and uses our helpdesk tool (CA). This candidate will receive support tickets via CA and manage their workload via this tool.

Candidate will perform the following each day:

NEW PC's unbox, Image, load SW, configure SW.

restore data to new PC.

Get PC's on the network, configure printing

IMAC Support

Provide H/W BF support (No parts) but will manage getting PC's repaired through warranty providers

Assist the EU community with PC related support questions.

Client wants a support person who is able to provide Mac support (About 40-50%) & 50% Wintel desktop support.


Qualifications:
Must pass a drug and criminal background check before starting

3+ years working in the IT Industry

Must have a background with MAC OS and Windows 7 background.

Ability to automate tasks using basic scripting techniques required. Remotely manage devices to determine user experiences and debug issue, utilizing knowledge base and call script skills required. Must be able to work with both ends of basic level testing as well as high level testing and documentation.

Hardware/peripherals

Extensive knowledge of windows operating systems, vendor diagnostics, re-image software such as Ghost, Virus scan software, SMS.

Minimum of one year hardware troubleshooting experience, which needs to include laptops and desktop for Tier One vendors.

Should also be familiar with vendor web sites in order to find hardware updates, driver updates, and engineering changes) as well as on multiple Tier One products (IBM, Compaq, HP, Toshiba, Apple). CompTIA A+ certification and at least one vendor hardware certification required. Minimum of one (1) year bench and/or on-site service technical experience.

Apple hardware qualification and Support Professional certification is a plus (ACSP, ACMT) Lenovo hardware qualification is a plus

Must have excellent communication and customer service skills
