Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as liaison between claimant, clinic, VAS and provider
  • Performs confirmation calls to ascertain if claimant questionnaire has been completed and works with claimant to complete as necessary
  • Upon collection of claimant questionnaire enters information into KMEP Claimant History Section for Provider review
  • Completes data entry and review of computerized worksheets manually completed by claimants
  • Participates in exam and supports provider in the completion of KMEP with a focus on the Claimant History and Physical Findings sections; ensures any revisions to the clamant history from the exam are entered into KMEP
  • Assist with chart preparation to include tagging of medical records; identification of diagnostics within one year and attaching diagnostics to “C files” within 48 hours
  • Reviews and edits reports in proprietary software application to ensure accuracy in context, grammar, spelling, and consistency.  This will be accomplished through review of computerized worksheets, doctor's notes, and verifying information through dialogue with physician
  • Review each exam report for accuracy prior to submission to the physician for final review and approval
  • Assists in the retrieval of diagnostic tests for scanning into propriety software application
  • Interfaces with operational teams and assists in the provision of medical records
  • Works with providers and operational teams to ensure reports are submitted timely and accurately
  • As necessary may be called upon to assist in the delivery of reports for all lines of business
  • Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization

  • Excellent communication skills
    must have the ability to effectively communicate (in written and verbal form) with all levels of business, including senior level management, physicians and medical vendors (mobile clinics, diagnostic facilities, etc)
  • Intermediate knowledge of medical terminology
  • Above average computer skills with some data entry experience; ability to type a minimum of 30 wpm with accuracy
  • Ability to identify mistakes or inconsistencies in medical reports and work with physician to correct
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Basic knowledge of office equipment (computer, fax, copier, printer, etc.)

Education and/or Experience: (includes certificate & licenses)

  • High School Diploma; Some college preferred
  • Two plus years experience in a medical (LVN, nursing background) /healthcare administrative assistant capacity desired
  • Prior experience working directly with physicians a plus
  • Some secondary education or vocational training in related field
