Life Sciences Senior Marketing Project Manager

Job Description

As a core contributor to our marketing efforts the incumbent will work independently as the project manager and primary contact for complex marketing projects and initiatives as well as overseeing all aspects of producing, maintaining and distributing the printed marketing materials (including print ads) distributed by JAX® Mice & Services.  This position holds matrix-based responsibility for execution of projects including: new product launches, multi-phased digital marketing campaigns, cross-platform outreach (combining web, social, webinar etc) and ensures that projects progress and final products meet the needs and budgets of internal and external stakeholders, content providers and multimedia service providers.


The incumbent will support external print and digital advertising and in conjunction with the Content Marketing Manager and Senior Manager of Marketing assist in the identification of the desired media outlets issues, dates and specific ad content. The ability to collect, understand and create analytics to evaluate the performance of various outreach platforms will be essential to success. The incumbent oversees the deployment of materials and information used in marketing automation campaigns, webinars, seminars and other marketing managed outreach. Also works in conjunction with the Project Manager Tactical Campaigns on campaigns that include both marketing automation and the Sales organization. Provides direction on strategy based on stakeholder feedback. Acts as back up for the newsletters, event administration and will need to have a working understanding of a variety of marketing automation and document management and sales enablement systems. 

Job Requirements

  • Advanced degree in the life sciences, Ph.D. preferred, and 2 years’ successful experience in a life sciences business environment.  Excellent interpersonal, communications, and negotiation skills coupled with the demonstrated ability to build networks, influence and motivate others toward accomplishing individual and group objectives.
  • Demonstrated advanced scientific understanding of biology and mammalian genetics concepts to be able to draft, edit and publish content with minimal review and oversight.
  • Must possess demonstrated strong analytical, scientific content development and program/project management skills, with the ability to draft and publish scientific marketing collateral in a just-in-time fashion, with little editorial or technical oversight and the ability to manage multiple marketing campaigns and projects simultaneously and to work well in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
Required Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in formulating and successfully overseeing projects/campaigns, under tight timelines and pressure, which carry significant financial and business consequences.
  • Experience in scheduling and managing multiple projects with internal/external stakeholders under tight deadlines.  Experience managing advertising or promotion schedules is preferred.
  • Must be able to work on par with technical scientists to develop and edit marketing content and author content with considerable independence and flexibility to ensure quality, technical accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.
