Great DIRECT HIRE opportunity for an Electrical/Controls Engineer with controls systems design to work for one of our growing clients in the Rochester area and a global organization.
To be considered, Controls Engineer will have a minimum of 4 to 5 years’ experience in Electrical/Controls Engineering of industrial automated systems with experience in GE, Allen Bradley Siemans and Fanuc controls.
Controls Engineer's responsibilities include electrical schematics, electrical hardware specification,
controls/interface programming, and will communicate with both customers and vendors.
Will prepare electrical schematics, including panel layouts and bill of materials.
Size equipment such as drives, relays, power supplies and contactors.
Prepare data sheets, Order of Operation and other documentation on equipment and obtain technical information from equipment suppliers.
Recommend creative, technically feasible solutions that satisfy customer needs, while adhering to
engineering standards and strategic direction.
Evaluate state-of-the-art technological developments in various controls systems, and apply the latest
Apply engineering techniques in designing a control system that is reliable, serviceable, energy efficient and competitive.
Will interface with Sales, Mechanical, Machine Shop, Build, Service, personnel as well as a multi-tier supplier base. Will work with in worldwide product regulation and compliance to design systems that meet both customer and government regulations, restrictions and codes.
Controls Engineer must have experience working with PLC's from various manufactures such as Allen-Bradley, GE, with Wonderware a plus, etc.
Must have general understanding of industrial equipment operations, strong verbal and written communication skills to interface with management, customers and staff.
Must have experience with documenting designs, using computer aided design systems, for electrical and/or mechanical.
Experience with RS Logic 500 and 5000, Profibus, strong troubleshooting and analytical problem solving skills, proficient in Microsoft suite of products.
Controls Engineer must be willing to travel nationally and to Canada when required up to 20%, approximately 1 week every 2 months.
Controls Engineer needs to be a motivated team player with excellent problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
BS Electrical Engineering or Controls Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology is preferred.
Associates in Electrical Engineering/Technology will also be acceptable with 5 years’ experience.
This company offers 40 hour work week, straight salary with no mandatory overtime or excessive travel.
