$130-$160K plus bonus

The Role


This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for leading financial reporting processes, internal controls, providing excellent support to operations and improving business processes and information needed to drive significant growth. The Controller will be responsible for all accounting, audit, and income tax matters including:


  • Leading the company’s financial reporting function by providing timely and accurate reports and financial statements for senior management, the Board and its lenders
  • Overseeing general ledger and financial information systems to ensure timely and accurate financial and operational reporting with strong internal controls and GAAP compliance
  • Leading the relationship with the company’s outside auditors and tax advisors, managing the completion of the annual audit and maintaining tax compliance 
  • Managing technical accounting matters including purchase accounting, hedge, fair value and income tax accounting, insurance reserves,  FIN 46 exposures and stock compensation
  • Managing SEC and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance including periodic 10-Q and 10-K filings for certain affiliated public partnerships who are SEC registrants 
  • Working closely with the executive team to drive key decision making through timely and accurate financial insights, ad-hoc analysis and collaborative discussions
  • Impacting overall business performance through various special projects aimed at supporting the company’s growth plans or obtaining cost or operational efficiencies


Job Requirements






The Candidate


  • A minimum of 7-10 years progressive experience in financial leadership roles including exposure to large or medium sized multi-location companies
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with a CPA and prior manager level experience with a national accounting firm, MBA a plus
  • Strong technical accounting foundation including experience with change-in-control transactions, purchase accounting and initial or secondary offerings
  • Experience with of SEC reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
  • Experience with income tax accounting and compliance
  • Outstanding communication skills, both interpersonal and written
  • Business maturity and a strong business acumen that can be applied to the business in practice, while also balancing long-term objectives with short-term requirements
  • A results-driven self-starter with a hands-on approach, strong work ethic, reliability, self confidence and a collaborative style that challenges effectively
  • The highest level of integrity and business judgment
