Leading national consumer products distribution company based in Los Angeles, CA is growing and has an immediate need for a Finance Manager, Operations.

$85-100K + bonus. 

Reports to Director of FP&A

East SGV location (near Pomona).

REPORTING STRUCTURE: 

This position will report to the Director of Finance.


 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Financial Analysis role will be focused on analyzing and interpreting comprehensive operational data, to provide financial support to the business and division management team. The position is dedicated to developing, tracking and reporting as well as maintaining profitability models, analytics, and processes. Must have manufacturing experience e.g. BOMs, Material Variances, Cost accounting, Value Engineering. Logistics experience is a plus but not required. This individual will be the right hand of the VP of Operations (manufacturing/logistics) and the VP of Engineering.

 

Per assignment, this position will participate in strategic initiatives and/or ad hoc projects.  The successful candidate will drive new insights into key financial and performance drivers and be a trusted leader. The incumbent is an active business partner providing financial recommendations based on business results. This position will interface with all levels within the Business and Division.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities


  • Support the Operations team with financial modeling and forecasting
  • Overseeing and providing analytical support for business optimization initiatives and providing financial analysis to prioritize and lead cost reduction efforts.
  • Validating financial and operational results of process improvement efforts.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting for monthly, reforecast and other necessary transmissions.
  • Utilizing expertise in manufacturing processes and operations, provide information on key metrics (e.g., inventory, labor, material costs) plus recommendations on changes needed based on metrics.
  • Recommending, developing, and implementing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.
  • Participate in the annual budget and strategic plan processes, preparation of operating and capital budgets.
  • Lead monthly business flash estimates and quarterly reforecasts.
  • Responsible for maintaining, promoting, and monitoring applicable internal controls.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of monthly/quarterly closing/estimates; communicating current results and estimates to functional leaders.
  • Analyzing special projects and new investments to determine their short and long term financial impact by using various financial tools and techniques.
    • Ensuring financial controls are in place and are followed, maintaining data integrity.

    • Oral and Writing Communication – capable of relaying complex financial and operations metrics to a diverse group of people.  Can explain succinctly and clear operations issues and options to improve.  Skilled in making presentations to large groups.  Clear written communication style.
    • Establishing Focus – Through expertise and continuous learning is able to guide the team to potential new processes and assist in avoiding production problems.



    EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

     

    • BS degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or related field. Advance degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years progressive responsibility in financial analysis within a manufacturing environment.
    • At least 2 years experience providing financial analysis and recommendations at the corporate level.
    • A well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player.
