Student Services Advisor

Job Description

As a Student Service Advisor, you will act as a mentor for students who may need help with things like class scheduling, grades, leaves of absence, tutoring, etc. Our Student Advisors are there for our students every step of the way, ensuring a smooth and rewarding college experience.

  • Address all technical, and administrative questions and concerns from students pertaining to their online learning experiences in a professional and appropriate manner
  • Advise students on attendance and grade performance, placing students on “probation" (Academic, Attendance, or Behavioral)
  • Track, follow up, and document all student contacts (inbound and outbound),
  • Prepare all students for online learning prior to the commencement of their programs and make sure that they successfully complete their new student orientations.
  • Monitor student participation in their online classrooms and audit academic progress weekly.
  • Communicate with instructors and students concerning academic issues.
  • Operate within the highest ethical standards and integrity in all aspects of the position.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a customer service role, preferably in the education industry
  • AA Degree or higher, Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Outstanding telephone skills and the ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic work setting
  • Strong work ethic and self-starter, able to effectively manage multiple priorities and adapt to change within a fast-paced business environment
  • Must possess a professional and friendly attitude and be able to quickly develop a rapport with potential students over the phone.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and internet savvy
