The University of Kentucky International Center is seeking to fill a full-time Education Abroad Advisor position in Lexington, KY. The EA Advisor will work closely with outbound and inbound exchange students at all phases of the educational process of studying abroad, including promotion and outreach, advising, counseling and selection, on-going orientation, credit transfer, etc. The advisor will serve as an expert on exchange opportunities available to UK students within our strategic portfolio of programs and must know the details of the programs, including application procedures, exchange balances, and deadlines. The advisor will assist in maintaining relationships with international university partners, facilitating new exchanges as initiated by UK faculty and collaborate with UK academic colleges/units as required. The advisor will educate and counsel students about other countries and international educational travel, including systems of higher education, culture, visa processing, health, and safety issues. Other job responsibilities include data collection/reporting, program development, and active participation in professional educational organizations.
Must have a Master's Degree in liberal arts, higher education, or a related field and one year experience in education abroad, advising/counseling, and/or international education services.
