Job Title:Biofuels Sales and Logistics Manager

Reports to: VP of Ethanol Supply and Trading

Department: Kinergy

Location: Sacramento, CA

Supervises: N/A

Classification: Exempt

Purpose: This position is responsible for developing and executing ethanol sales and growth strategies related to E85, Biodiesel and Rack Ethanol Marketing. Assist in developing and producing appropriate reporting related to ethanol production plants. Develop into Team Lead in order to further develop the Kinergy supply chain management system. Responsible for calling on jobber customer segment accounts. Assist and backup the VP of Ethanol Supply & Trading as necessary.

Environment: Pacific Ethanol, Inc. (PEI) is a public traded company headquartered in Sacramento, CA.PEI markets ethanol to major and independent oil companies from either third party sources or from producing plants within the PEI structure. The company also markets the feed co-products through it Ag Products division to livestock feeding customers in locations where it has production facilities.The production facilities are strategically located to process corn to make ethanol, and feed products, taking advantage of unparalleled efficiencies in energy uses, waste reduction, water use and transportation costs.

The following is a list of major duties and responsibilities for this position along with certain supportive duties. It is not all-inclusive.Other duties and responsibilities may be added as needed and in addition; and, management may modify this job description as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in further advancement of supply chain management programs.

  • Understand and execute financial/paper hedging and trading within risk limits.

  • Assist in further advancement of ethanol marketing, sales, trading, and logistical activities for a portfolio of existing and prospective customers

  • Identify opportunities to increase Kinergy's trading and marketing activities and financial performance.

  • Contribute to the supply and demand analysis for all Kinergy products, and support the development of Company operating/strategic plans.

  • Support and assist as necessary, PAPs efforts with respect to grain procurement co-product marketing.

  • Develop strategy, presentations, & analysis to pursues supply & sales agreements for new customers products

  • Develop new product/customer sales plans (Trans-loading, rack marketing, export/import)

  • Education/Experience:

  • 4-year college degree in a related field -- or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 2 years in the petroleum and/or ethanol or grain sales and/or trading field

  • Proven track records of meeting sales goals within acceptable risk limits

  • Experience in designing and managing supply chain activities.

  • Success in negotiating and closing significant deals with major suppliers and buyer

  • Ability to help grow the business

  • Proven ability to effectively utilize an automated sales, trading and distribution system (ERP experience is a plus)

  • Physical Requirements:
    The physical requirements of this job are consistent with the typical office job. They include long periods of sitting while using a computer and phone. Travel is required (public transportation, auto or aircraft).
