KATU-TV, the ABC affiliate in Portland, Oregon seeks a backup helicopter pilot. KATU’s helicopter is a Bell 206B Jet Ranger. The backup pilot operates the aircraft in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with all appropriate FAA regulations and Rotorcraft flight manuals. The backup pilot is also responsible for helping KATU's full-time pilot with tracking and scheduling maintenance and mechanical issues, as well as keeping the aircraft clean at all times. The backup pilot must understand how to perform all maneuvers, procedures, and emergency operations appropriate for a Bell 206B.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must have U.S. commercial pilot license or higher with Rotorcraft Helicopter class rating
Must have second class or higher FAA medical certification (unrestricted)
Prior Bell helicopter factory pilot training
Prior experience working with microwave/ENG transmitters and receivers in helicopter
Must have completed 4000 hours total time, 3000 helicopter time, 1000 turbine time
Must have 750 hours Bell 206 time
Must have 500 hours mountain time
Must have 350 hours unaided night time
Must comply with all federal and state drug and alcohol policies
Must have a valid driver's license
Must be able to work unusual schedules, including weekends and nights as necessary
Other duties as assigned
