Construction Management/Civil Engineering Technology

The Department of Engineering Technology & Construction Management at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites applications for a lecturer position with an anticipated start date August 15, 2014 or January 2, 2015. The Department houses five undergraduate programs and three graduate programs. This position will teach in the Civil / Construction undergraduate program area.

Applications will be accepted from candidates with expertise in any area of construction management / civil engineering technology to include the following:

Construction Management / Civil Engineering Technology (Apply to Positions # 1791/3984/1768) Commercial Construction, Building Information Management, Construction Methods/Materials/
Operations, Design/Build and Other Alternative Delivery Methods, Green Engineering/Construction & Sustainability, Energy Management, Facilities Management, Structures, Geotechnical, Transportation, Water Resources/Hydraulics/Hydrology, Geomatics or Geodetics.

Required qualifications for lecturer positions include at least a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology/Management, Construction or closely-related area AND a minimum of three years relevant professional practice, construction or industry experience at time of appointment. Candidates must possess excellent leadership, organizational, teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills, and must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment that serves a diverse student population. Candidates must be proficient with AutoCAD software. Successful candidates should be capable of teaching in more than one area from the following: Civil/Construction drawing (required), geomatics/surveying, structures, geotechnical/ materials, building systems, and/or construction.

Preferred qualifications include a doctorate, professional registration or certification, prior teaching experience, and/or demonstrated professional contributions in engineering or construction. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
