 Certified Surgical Techs for the Main and Cardiac ORs

Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, CT is growing and expanding its Operating Room Services!  If you are an experienced Certified Surgical Tech interested in working in a brand new, state-of-the-art Operating Room, please check us out.  Opportunities to cross-train for cardiac are available. We will be hiring for various shifts and hours, including per diem.

Our brand new state-of-the-art, OR includes:

  • 17 suites (includes 4 cardiac suites)
  • A $3 million Hybrid OR
  • State-of-the-art facility including Boom technology and larger, integrated room
  • A growing robotics program
  • All services including General Surgery, Bariatric, GYN, ENT, GU, Ortho, Cardiac, Neuro, Trauma and others

Certified Surgical Techs function as professionals under the direct and continuous supervision of qualified professional registered nurses and in accordance with established procedures and aseptic principles functions as a first scrub/scrub assistant in selected cases in order to render quality service to patients of all ages and surgeons during operative procedures.  Assists with the preparation of sterile/unsterile supplies and equipment; assists with autoclaving of sterile equipment and supplies; assumes responsibility for the proper care of all supplies and equipment; transports patients and assists with transferring patients from stretcher to table and vice versa; assists with lifting and positioning patients; reports unusual occurrences to the OR Manager or Director.

Job Requirements

  • High School Graduate; Graduate of accredited Surgical Technologist Program. Must possess NBSTSA.
  • At least 1 years experience, As associated with surgical technologist program.  Minimum one year experience desirable.
  • Must possess manual dexterity, be able to plan and organize work, communicate effectively, apply basic technique to numerous situations.
