Emissions Manager

Job Description

Generac Power Systems seeks an experienced Emissions Manager to lead a growing team of Qualified Emissions Engineers and Test Technicians. Here, you will be surrounded by others who share the same passion for engines and creating products to protect the things that power your life.   If you can translate Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulations and guide the technical community then this may be the role for you.This role will provide technical direction, and report to Executive Review Board on progress.  You will be responsible for ensuring compliance and certification of all Generac engine driven products as well as loose engine models. Maintain our ABT as well as provide input for best use of credits. You will make decisions regarding foreign partner capability, compliance, and bonding. On occasion you may perform onsite evaluation and audit of these partners, as well as provide technical guidance while building relationships with various suppliers.You will have direct interaction with EPA and CARB to maintain a working knowledge of pending regulation changes and report on how they may affect our products as well as determine a course of action if changes are required.

Job Requirements

  1. Minimum BSME or similar degree required
  2. EPA and CARB certification experience required
  3. 3+ yrs managerial experience with the ability to provide regulatory and technical leadership
  4. Great presentation and communication skills with the ability to convey complex Emission compliance concepts to any level of corporate employee
  5. Must be able to travel to internationally (less than 10% of the time)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the design of engines, engine-powered equipment, and/or controls and the design or calibration of engine diagnostics
  • Experience with AVL Emissions benches a plus.
