    QUALIFICATIONS: A.      EDUCATION:1.       High school graduate required.  2.       College courses in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology preferred. B.      EXPERIENCE:1.       Two (2) years working experience in a Medical Record Department or unit secretary position is required. C.      LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:1.       None D.      EQUIPMENT/SKILLS:1.       Must know basic medical terminology to include familiarity with diagnoses and operative procedures.  2.       Must be able to read difficult and semi-legible script.  3.       Must be able to print neatly and clearly numerical data onto worksheets or abstracts.  4.       Handwriting on Deficiency Checklists must be neat and legible.  5.       Must be able to operate computers for Master Patient Index, Medical Record Analysis System and Incomplete record System, power file, copy machine, printers and facsimile. E.       WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:1.       Clean, well-lighted office.2.       Can be subject to verbal or physical abuse from physicians, patients or families.3.       Very good hand-eye coordination for the transfer of data to worksheets during analysis, computer data entry and comparison of data.4.       Requires much sitting for prolonged periods of time and ability to lift and carry stacks of medical records and to shift files.  5.       Must exhibit good body mechanics and plans work and actions for safety.6.       Must be of above average intelligence.7.       Must be dependable.8.       Must be clean, neat well groomed and have a pleasing personality.  9.       Must be able to get along well with coworkers, large medical staff.10.   Must be adaptable to change in procedures and work flow.  11.   Must be able to work under constant pressures.12.   Must also successfully complete the pre-employment/post job offer health screening examination, and the annual screening each year thereafter as an employee. F.       OTHER:1.       Performs other duties as assigned.
