Partial Job Description

1) Ensure highest standards for quality are maintained

2) Ensure highly disciplined compliance with all regulatory, company and customers defined food safety and sanitation standard, system, procedures and practices to guarantee absolute wholesomeness of company product

3) Obtain excellent quality results, as measured by customer complaint frequency, product evaluation score, internal and external facility and operational audit score, quality system compliance and other formal and informal feedback mechanism using existing method, procedure and system

4) Manage a HACCP Coordinator, a Label Administrator, a Chemist and 6 QA technicians

5) Promote an understanding of the quality standards with plant associates

6) Provide training to staff and plant associates on Quality Standards

7) Oversee new item production procedures and protocols and labeling requirement

8) Provide consumer complaint resolution assuring a coordinated timely written response when needed

9) Provide general product specifications maintenance

10) Complete customer specification database information and compliance

11) Respond to customer concerns and visit customer accounts related to Quality Standards

12) Interact with manufacturers of equipment, packaging materials and other supplies

13) Provide specification for company grading standards and policies

14) Take accountability for customer complaint process - data input, investigation, corrective action and response to customer

15) Review product quality data on a daily basis

16) Alert appropriate personnel to resolve issues

17) Provide help in troubleshooting

18) Manage in house QA programs, including labeling and packaging

19) Ensure vendor certification, inbound inspection and lot tracking

20) Provide external auditor with information, write response and coordinate plant follow-up

21) Assist in all audits on Food Safety - SQF, USDA

22) Coordinate and oversee plant sanitation programs

23) Serve as a plant liaison between regulatory agencies and management

24) Manage customer audits and coordinate third party audits

Job Requirements

Qualifications / Skills Required

1) Bachelors degree in Food Sciences or a related field

2) Certificate of training in HACCP, Pest Control, Food Safety, SQF and Quality Systems

3) Minimum 5 years of experience in food processing quality assurance and regulatory compliance

4) Experience in dealing with customer quality issues

5) Dry cured meat experience

6) Microbiological laboratory testing skills
