Component Processor - Laboratory Assistant

South Texas Blood & Tissue Center
is seeking a

Laboratory Assistant to inspect

and perform all phases related to blood components production

at our San Antonio location.

Responsibilities / Job Expectations for Laboratory Assistants include:
  • Process blood components to established quality standards.
  • Perform computer data entry of donor cards and components.
  • Accurately label blood components.
  • Report on the final disposition of components.
  • Quarantine blood components.
  • Perform calibration, quality control, and maintenance on equipment.
  • Maintain daily inventory and requisition of supplies.


FT - CP005e/6 - Rotating days, evening shift, rotating hrs on weekend + shift differential

FT: CP008 – Rotating days, 5 pm-1:30 am after 90 day training

Rotating Days & Evening Shifts
Variable days & hours including weekends

Shift and Weekend Differential
Salary will commensurate to your education, certifications and experience.

    Education / Qualifications:
    • High School Graduate or equivalent

    Knowledge / Experience:
    • Must be capable of operating all technical equipment.
    • Must input computer data with accuracy.
    • Medical background– preferred
