Programs through various programming languages; changes production programs in accordance with requested enhancements; and participates in new program development.

Essential Duties

  • Writes or modifies application programs according to standards to satisfy the business and technical requirements.
  • Analyzes defined business requirements and designs program modifications to meet approved business and technical requirements.
  • Identifies, documents, and analyzes knowledge worker business rules.
  • Codes Inference Engine rules to satisfy business requirements according to standards.
  • Generates test data and conducts unit, system, and integration testing to insure changes meet defined requirements and supports User Acceptance Testing of all system changes.
  • Utilizes change management software and project accounting and time reporting systems according to standards.
  • Writes or modifies control languages/scripting languages according to standards.
  • Documents all programming and rules changes according to standards.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Job Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field.
  • Must have at least three (3) years in programming and computer systems analysis in Visual Studio utilizing .NET, C++, and Visual Basic; which includes at least one (1) year Cognasys program/analyst support preferred. 
  • Exposure to interrelated programmer/analyst activities required.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Visual Studio programming in .NET, C++, and Visual Basic to include Regular expressions.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Must have the ability to effectively write and present business correspondence, reports and procedure manuals.
  • Must be familiar with most general office machines and have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Must be able to work under sometimes stressful conditions, while maintaining professionalism, enthusiasm and adherence to SWBC Mission, Vision and Values in all dealings with other employees, clients, and in all work products produced.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time executing, updating, and validating computer system applications.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally locally or nationally to conduct end-user installation support and/or training.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs. of computer equipment and peripherals, as needed.
  • Must be able to stoop and kneel to reach wiring and wall jacks.
