Job Purpose

Reporting directly to the Controller the Accounting Manager is responsible for the Accounting month end close functions and management of the daily accounting operations for the Company. 

Job Duties

  • Lead month end close process.
  • Coordinate the preparation of all financial statements according to GAAP, including supporting financial reports, all reconciliations, special analyses, and performance metric reports.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce accounting and internal controls and procedures that improve and enhance the Company’s financial performance including accuracy and timeliness of the monthly close process, financial reporting; protect the Company’s assets by monitoring and enforcing internal controls.
  • Supervise General Accounting & Accounts Payable staff.
  • Participate and assist in managing the annual audit process and ensure the Accounting Department’s readiness in advance of the annual audit; prove the accounting systems and processes, including the supporting information systems, to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and performance.
  • Lead the development and management of all G/L activities in support of the Controller and the Company’s executive leadership and to achieve the Company’s financial and growth objectives.
  • Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to their initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; implement operational best practices.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain Accounting staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Maintain and improve accounting staff job performance results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Maintain staff’s professional and technical knowledge by formulating staffing development and training plans.

Education and Certifications/Licenses:

  • Accounting or Finance degree is required.
  • CPA or CPA candidate required.


  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a management role.
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry is a plus.

Knowledge (e.g., skills; abilities; familiarity w/tools, languages, software programs):

  • Excellent knowledge of Inventory and Fixed Asset accounting and revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP rules and good accounting practices.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel using large amounts of data is required. Other software proficiency (e.g. Word, Tableau, Access, NetSuite) preferred.
  • Dynamic, team-oriented leader that can focus on day to day execution.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating direct reports.
  • Proven track record of financial systems development.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow in a hectic and fast-paced environment.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work with constantly changing priorities and with enthusiasm.
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Creative, flexible, and innovative team player and manager.
