We are currently seeking to hire a Plant Capital Projects Engineer for our Food Service manufacturing facility in Hillside, NJ .

The Plant Capital Projects Engineer develops/manages capital strategy development and implementation for the plant including product or package commercialization projects, process improvements (both product and building infrastructure). Also responsible for following the assigned project management methodology, reporting and tracking performance, schedule and cash flow. The Plant Project Engineer is the principal technical resource for the Ready-to-Eat food manufacturing systems, equipment and processes of the business.

•  Creates capital strategies with plant input and communicates them to internal stakeholders and support teams.

•  Develops and/or manages multi-year projects implementing project assignments and schedules. Duties include the development of project plans, estimation of costs, coordination of vendors, and supporting execution of projects from conception through start-up and commissioning at agreed performance levels (time, cost, line performance, etc.). 



Communication and Collaboration

•  Leads the development of plant capital plans - agreeing to programs, priorities and timing.

•  Manages regular communication routines with plant and support functions to insure alignment and awareness

•  Collaborates with Quality, Safety, Environmental, Purchasing, Legal, Finance and others to insure appropriate internal checks and collaborative hand-offs in successful project execution.

•  Partners with teams to ensure consistent vision for business case development.


•  Provides expertise in equipment, machinery operation, manufacturing, building utility infrastructure, etc. for Ready-to-Eat food service platforms to ensure operating efficiencies at production site.

•  Leads and facilitates development of equipment solutions to support product and package initiatives.

•  Creates Capital strategies and communicate them to internal stakeholders and equipment manufacturers.


•  Leads teams of internal and external stakeholders in addition to working as an individual contributor.

•  Leads stakeholders in finding Technical solutions for complex issues.

•  Excellent verbal/written communication and influencing skills.

Job Requirements

              Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical preferred) or related discipline; equivalent work experience considered.

              Minimum of 5 years of capital strategy development experience in manufacturing environments required.  Ready-to-Eat food industry or other CPC experience preferred

  • Must be authorized to work in the US, now and in the future, without sponsorship
