Commercial Field Technician - Energy Efficiency

CLEAResult seeks a Senior Commercial Energy Field Technician to perform energy audits and quality assurance reviews for small and large scale commercial buildings throughout the greater Northern California area. The applicant should be self-motivated with the ambition and drive to help meet client, customer and company goals.

This position will have a home office and can be based within the Northern California area to include Oakland, San Francisco, San Jose, Salinas and Sacramento.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct precise and accurate energy efficiency audits, re-audits, audit verification's, and other technical data gathering activities
  • Perform accurate post installation checks to verify the proper installation of energy efficient retrofits
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and recommend solutions
  • Support Account Managers in their efforts to influence utility customers and contractors to install energy efficiency retrofits
  • Coordinate with Account Managers while working in their territories
  • Coordinate with program office staff to facilitate field work
  • Provide input and status updates to program staff
  • Maintain high level of customer service and relationship building
  • Manage multiple project/assignments at once with the ability to rapidly and effectively change priorities

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Experience conducting energy audits or technical assessments
  • Technical background in facility refrigeration, lighting and HVAC systems preferred
  • Ability to learn and understand technical aspects of refrigeration and lighting
  • Experience promoting energy efficiency measures in a business setting preferred
  • An interest in the field of energy efficiency
  • Self-motivated, able to plan and prioritize tasks
  • History of achievement and results orientation
  • Excellent and versatile communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Proficient in web-based CRM and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Extensive travel and ability to operate independently. Travel up to 50%
  • Possess a valid California drivers license with a clean driving record
  • Option to work remotely or from CLEAResult offices

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Requires considerable manual dexterity
  • Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Employee must also frequently drive moderate to long distances in an automobile
