Solutions Architect - IN, CT or WI (Telecommute Internal Only)

In this role as a Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for partnering with business stakeholders to produce solutions using business capabilities and technologies to enable business outcomes, analyze business requirements, perform options analysis, ensuring quality/alignment of designs to help transform our consumer facing platforms. In this role you will gain experience working on goals that no other company is working towards.  You will be working to radically transform our platforms to be consumer focused and your work will directly make UHC the platform of choice for consumers. You will be able to see your work have an immediate impact.

Locations for this are Indianapolis, IN; Hartford, CT; Green Bay, WI - Telecommuting for this role is open to internal candidates only.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assess and interpret customer needs and requirements
  • Seek out issues and create solutions
  • Strategize on moving our consumer facing products and organization forward
  • Develop solutions that utilize innovative concepts and techniques to enable our Consumer Experience and the associated business outcomes
  • Evangelize solutions to executives
  • Involved in solving moderately complex problems and/or conduct moderately complex analysis
  • Maintain knowledge of current domains and strategic roadmaps
  • Identify/quantify scope and impact of business changes on systems
  • Incorporate software and system architecture into conceptual designs
  • Support applicable modeling efforts (e.g., data modeling, process modeling, hardware modeling, performance modeling)
  • Provide oversight of conceptual designs to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture governance (e.g., principles, policies, standards, future-state reference architectures)
  • Maintain awareness of current technology assets, and the applicability and capability of each
  • Maintain awareness of current business and industry issues/trends and incorporate into enterprise architecture designs as appropriate
  • Serves as a resource to others

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of overall technology experience
  • 3+ years of Technology Architecture experience
  • 3+ years of experience evaluating technical products and providing strategic guidance on enabling technology solutions
  • 3+ years of experience in IT Solution delivery
  • Experience with Agile methodology
  • Experience identifying issues and finding solutions
  • Solid understanding of industry patterns for application architecture and integration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Health care industry experience
  • FACETS experience
  • Experience working with consumer facing solutions/ digital experience
  • Experience with modular architecture, web based applications driven by transactional databases
  • Experience with human capital design and mobility
  • Experience with core administrative systems or back office systems
